The Journey
“Have the courage to do what brings you joy!” This statement describes the motivation and passion for the inception of Welcome Wreath Jubilant Designs. The beginning of my life chapters are full of artistic pursuits, primarily musical ones. From the time I was a little girl, music has been woven into the fabric of my daily life because my mother was a singer, vocal professor, and Minister of Music. My father was a high school science educator, but loved music as well. He played marimba on tour for Harry Belafonte. Wow! As you can now imagine, music surrounded our family daily! I hated doing chores, especially vacuuming, so the only thing that kept me engaged and on task was to use the vacuum as my microphone! The stage was mine-singing to the top of the rafters over top of the vacuum cleaner hum. Fast forward from that little girl, I decided to pursue music as a career, obtained a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and taught in academia for over 10 years followed by serving as a Minister of Music & Worship. One of my greatest memories is finally making it to sing on the stage of Carnegie Hall!
Creativity has always run deep in my soul. My father loved gardening and designing flower arrangements with the fruits of his labor! I was an astute pupil watching everything he did! Over the years, I have discovered that I am more than a musical artist! I am a designer who is inspired by nature, friends and family members with their unique personalities. Every design created is different from conception to completion.
As a developing artist, I am constantly researching and seeking out self-training opportunities to ensure that every design I create is built on a solid foundation with quality workmanship. I want you to be proud of displaying your selection!
I am a feeler and healer. Do you know someone like that? We are empathetic to a fault but that empathy is also our superpower. We draw others in because of the light that shines within us. My desire is for that light to be seen and felt through the beauty of my designs. Welcome Wreath Jubilant Designs is my way of sharing my light with you and hopefully bringing jubilance into your home!
